Solaris Bulk Ink System

I'm thinking about going to the Solaris Bulk Catridge System ($165.00 A and B cartridges) for my Roland sp-300v. I use about 2 440 in every color per month. I've have read you have to do a lot of maintenance to keep up with bulk ink systems? Question is what type of maintenance?? Do you have to completely drain your cartridges and system every month? Does the ink settle, dry, or something in the cartridges?? How much waste is involved?

Our refillable cartridge system will work just fine. it does not need addition maintenance. four refillable cartriges with open top. Use a funnel to refill and nothing else. With Roland SP300, you can keep on printing. We had a Roland SP300 during ISA2010 floor. Also refillable cartridge system is the most used for users to go bulk. Give us a call and we will explain, pictures will be sent to you upon request so you know what you are getting into. $80/liter. $20 each refillable cartridge. That's all you need.

Jason 91. I hope you are using your printer a lot. In my experience bulk systems on the SP line is a bad idea--unless the printer is working 6-plus hours a day. Open air ink gets thick if not used and will greatly increase your maintenance cost. I have serviced hundreds of these printers and would not recommend bulk.

agreed.

you need to be going through a set of ink a week to justify the hassle of bulk in. It's a PITA.

It's worth it for my business, but if I didn't use a lot of ink I would run carts.
Solaris makes great aftermarket carts.

I would recommend staying with the carts on the SP and agree with Large Format. Bulk on the higher speed units work well but do require a little "dialing in" and the extra maintenance costs.

Going with bulk will save you $200 (give or take) per year after adding in the bulk cartridges cost.

Give me a call if you like as CiberSupply is a Reseller for the Solaris Ink.
