Since nothing interesting is going on around here, I thought I'd share a short one which happened yesterday afternoon. What the hey..... nothing better to talk about.

Guy calls me on the phone and asks if we do vinyl instals ?

UH, yeah, sorta. Whacha got in mind ??

Well, I have some flames I bought from a sign company for my truck and was wondering if you could put them on for me ?? It covers the entire hood.... and top to bottom on the front fenders and goes back about 10'. It's three separate pieces.

Why can't the company who sold them to you do it ??

Oh.... ha, they're from Canada.

Well, then they must've thought you could do it.

Not really, I suffer from bad carpal tunnel syndrome and they said any local shop should be able to do it for about $15 or $20.

Well, I'd rather not do it, because if we mess something up, you'll be SOL. If we produce the vinyl, we'll put them on, but I've seen people send wrong sizes, inferior products and worse.... then expect us to perform miracles. We'd be around $290. without any promise of not messing them up.

WOW !! :omg: I only paid $80 for the whole package.

Well, then I'd continue shopping around or stop back in our shop and let us see the vehicle and the graphics.... and we'll negotiate a little further.

Good Luck.................. :peace!:

Reminded me a little of Pat's thread the other day about the sign shops selling.... or giving away remnants for busy-bodies.

If he's only 80 bucks in he should have enough monies to drive up here and get the "shop" to install them....

Ps. you're welcome Gino - I sell lowball graphic kits to people in PA all the time. I told this guy to go see you and bust your ball$.

:clapping::ROFLMAO:
Must be a Canadian thing.

We sell a special kind of vinyl for carpal tunnel folks... Installs itself. Kind of like those old Bits & Bites commercials... remember? Every installation... a whole new ball game!! :ROFLMAO:

Yep, it is definitely a Canadian thing!!:Canada 2:

So, if the guy had gotten it from Mexico or China..... would it still have the same connotation ??

Great maroon type for Gino and purple for the person calling. Otherwise I would have had a hard time following that interesting story.

I knew some would have problems in this area, so on such a slow day, I had time to make it a colorful conversation for the visually color impaired non comprehending members.

I don't care what they say about you, Gino, you are one talented guy. I do not see anything wrong with your type, colors, kerning use of white space etc etc. (that etc etc is done in a Yul Brynner voice)

Quit buggin' me
Gino you should have told him you have a special fluid that even he, with his carpal syndrome, could use to float those flames right onto that hood (in sub-zero temps) and taken his 20 for your left over bottle of RapidTac slushy.
