SP-300 driver question

Jim Hill

New Member
I have owned an SP-300 for three years and I was using it with Windows XP with no problems.

I have a new computer using windows OS 7 and was wondering if I am going to have a problem finding a driver.

The Roland site only lists drivers for XP

Now wondering if I may also have to keep the old computer and use it just for the Roland SP-300

Anyone else with an SP-300 run into this yet?

Software issue is the problem.

I had a friend who is a Roland tech tell me that my SP-300 would work fine with OS-7 but he said the problem is the ColorRip software will not work with OS-7

I can change my SP-300 to an SP-300 S or V model by changing the dip settings inside of it and then I could use VersaWorks software instead.

Problem is I would have to either purchase VersaWorks or find a copy.

There is one other way to make everything work and that is to make OS-7 emulate XP which is something many people do because they feel more comfortable with XP

I know that many users hate using ColorRip software but after using it for a few years it works perfectly and I have never had any issues with using it so I thinking that maybe for now I will simply set up OS-7 to look and act like XP
