SP-540v won't cut

I picked up a roland sp-540v for the highschool graphic design program i teach at. We have a roland sg300 and needed a larger format. I went the budget route and was able to pick up the roland sp-540v. I cannot, for the life of me, get it to cut CutContour paths. I realize that there's a good chance it has to do with the age of the software/etc running on windows 10. When I look at cut settings in versaworks, it shows "cut all paths" grayed out. I can't get the machine to connect to the latest versaworks (also running on the computer) as this printer isn't supported but I can get it to print with version 1.1.1. I've tried various file formats that work fine on the SG300. Any tips or thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Latest version for SP-540V is 5.51
Don't use transparencies together with cutpaths.
To test, create a path with a spot color CutContour and save it as a EPS.

I'll find a version of 5.51 and see if that helps. The files cut fine on the SG300. Thanks!

Special Items should show if a cutline on the artwork. there are 2 reasons for that.

1. there is no stroke coloured SPOT color named CutContour. in your artwork
- Sed me your file. I can check it for you.
2. there is a Bug in VW5. might need to reinstall
- Run VW5 setup as Administrator. and at the First time Run it as Administrator when adding your printer..
