sp540v flex / data cable and encoder strip

how often should we change flex/data cable and encoder strip? is twice a year replacement considerable?

another thing - could not seem to find flex cable for sp540i. or does it have one ?
also trying to find service manual for sp540i .. maybe you could point me to one.

It have one. But it's differently arranged in comparison to the 540V. You will find it when opening the top cover of the printer. It is arranged horizontally, and guided by a metal band.

I don't know where to download a SP540i service manual.
