Spit Pads

Is the spit absorbent pad that sits to the right of the platen the same on both a VJ1608 with MP Ink as say a VJ1604 with eco solvent ink? Or are the pads made of different material. Thanks.

They are currently made out of different materials.

But it is only a splash guard.
They should be chemically compatible, but the 'wafer' type pad for the 1604 may distort more than the foam on the 1608, so you will need to watch it more closely.

Thanks for that Randy. I've just heard that VJ-1604 pads don't last as long with the VJ-1608 MP Inks. Anyone know where I could order just the 1608 pads without the plastic holder? Thanks again.
