Hi!
We currently have an older Roland SP540v Print/Cut 54 in. machine.
I am looking to upgrade hopefully this summer to a new or newer machine. I am being told by one of my good vendors that Mimaki is the better bang for the buck. Print quality is better and more vibrant than the rolands are.
We are going to a Advantage sign supply show soon so I can hopefully judge for myself.
One real concern that I have is consistency. Probably 80% of my printing is repeat orders.
I have the Versaworks RIP set to handle my print needs and I wonder how much of a headache will it be going from that to a different RIP? The only other RIP I have ever tried besides VW is the one that came with Signlab. That was just a terrible experience. Days/Hours on Tech support and print issues never got resolved so I became a believer in VW!
I am interested in hearing from those of you that have done the switch. Were you happy with the results?
What issues did you have?
We are pretty remote so tech support is most often done by phone and how to videos. Do you recommend a certain vendor known for great tech?
Thanks for your experience sharing!
