Question Take up reel problem

I have a Roland VS-540 that I bought used. Myself and an employee use the printer daily and has worked fine until recently. Problem is every time we change out materials, we are prompted to set the take up reel. Not sure if one of us accidentally reset something. It works fine once it's set but if you don't the material just runs out into the floor. Very aggravating to reset it every time. Can someone give me a clue as to how to set it up permanently?

When you load the media, try selecting roll instead of take-up. Then it won't ask you to set the take up.
