which direction is the line running, up and down with the vinyl, or side to side with the head?

Hi
it runs with the carriage and is one jet wide definately magenta, not the whole way but intermittent, then it may clear for several passes and then do it again further down the print but not necessarily in the same place. Just flushed the heads through again today with cleaner and started a new run still there arrrrrrrrgh and nothing hanging from the head. If the board was firing the head why only one jet doesn't make sense ??????????????????????
thanks for the interest people

i've seen weird stuff from iffy contacts on cables, sometimes just taking them out and reseating them is enough. these would be the cables from the heads to the carriage board. Aside from that it's pandora's box of potential electrical issues, from static to bad heads.

Thanks Ragna Pandoras box would be about right, taking your advice I pulled the carrigae cables from their respective receptacles where they go on to the carriage board and then reconnected them. So now test to see if there is any improvement, rather than change anything else and then not knowing what cleared it. I had three 8 x 3 decals that I had tried to print earlier when this started, so tried again ( in the meantime someone has asked me for a warning sign for a school bus) start the print and all clear so let it run 3/4 of the way and still clear so stopped print run. Pulled up the school bus sign and ripped to print on clear vinyl. First pass just at the A in DO NOT PASS it started and then stopped and continued to do the whole 20 x 10 without any more hiccups hmmm guess I will just have to try things and see how it goes until I can afford to change the machine
Thank you all for your input
Have a great day
