Time for a new head?

Well, just tried to print red, and it printed orange. Did a test print..and got this. Am I pretty much screwed? I've got a JV3. I did put pumps on it probably 2.5 years ago or so, but I guess I haven't had enough trouble to be forced to learn what's what yet.

When I try to do a head soak...the cyan color on the station wont hold solution...it just drains down into the waste ink bottle. That's a new one too.

Pull the smaller cover off the back that covers the pumps. Clamp the line for cyan with something so it will hold solution to soak the heads. Go ahead and order 2 new OEM pumps ASAP....

that draining of the fluid means the pump is not operating correct on that channel you miht have a clump of ink in the pump flush the lines with a disway wash a couple of time and see if that helps . but a new head deff not needed .

A mimaki tech says it sounds like a damper needs replaced. They say either that or a new head. I'm looking at the dampers like an idiot not knowing a thing about it because they all look the same, I can't see anything that's totally wrong that sticks out to me.

I'm just going to order new pumps and a new damper, and go from there. Doesn't seem like I'm going to want to kill myself to do the job. Advantage is great about support and they are sending me an instruction pdf.

you could go in the back and pull suction from the magenta pump line untill you get a flow of steady ink in the syringe and then it should work my black does this occasionly and thats what i do. then do a test print you should be good

sounds like you've got an ink supply problem... just had the same issue myself recently, and a headwash cleared it right up! Bubble in my ink line was killing the siphon of the ink supply.

I'll usually run a long nozzle wash before the head wash, to make sure any gummed up ink was broken down prior to the headwash mode pumping the head full of cleaning solution.
