Time for sponge replace sp300v

Hello Everyone,

I have this notice on my SP300V printer. I know where the sponge is and how to replace it but I am curious as to how the printer knows when to replace?

Is it by time used, amount of printing performed or weight of the saturated material?

Also, is this a specific material I need to get from a roland dealer?

Thanks for the info.

John

This is based on pump times, cleanings, and print times. The pads are under the wipers...see the white thumb screw...pull out the tray and replace the pad (From Roland) if needed.
