to cut or not to cut that is the question

Three layers of all calendered vinyl going over a thick door molding. It's on good but I am wondering if it would be best to cut it rather then leave it wrapped the way it is? My only concern is stuff eventually getting behind it a bit and lifting.

Use a ScrapeRite Plastic Razor Blade to get under the edge of the vinyl and lift it back off of there so you can put the correct vinyl on now before it's set up.
Yes, cut it.

Thanks guys. I won't be taking it up but I guess I will cut it along where the molding meets the body. If I don't cut it, what the worst that would happen? I was thinking it will shrink and then pull up into a tunnel? Is that correct?
