customer came in with a word doc print out of helvetica text and overly stretch web pic and a laundry list of services in eras....the name was hard to read because he wanted the "logo" too large....

so i decided to do my own take using the same elements he had (no laundry list, though), just rearranging and changing the font.....

i have unusually thick skin, so give me your worse....

It will look quite different in real life. You should lighten up the photo of the tailer so it appears white. It's med grey right now. It is affecting the contrast of your red text. ( Unless the trailer is gray. In that case........never mind)

If you made everything a little smaller and got it up from the bottom a few inches….. you could probably put a short laundry list [maybe 5 things] in there horizontally with bullets separating the items.

Not many plumbers, electricians or handymen like a truck without some of their credits not being mentioned.

the sketch is out...if he wants the laundry list (without looking at the work order, i believe it's like 12 items or so he had typed up with an "& More!" at the end....i hate that....

if he wants the list, i'll definitely take your advice....

Yeah, we get those idiots, too. :banghead:

One thing we tell people with the ‘Gettysburg Address’ for a laundry list is that they need to decide… and to cut the list down to no more than 5 items. No one can read all of those things, the name and the contact information and be expected to remember anything at all. An odd number works best and 3 or 5 is the magic number.

Something needs to be first, like the name of the business and everything else just becomes second and third place. You can accomplish this with fonts, colors or size. However, if your customer balks at everything you suggest and ignores your good common sense and expertise, it sometimes becomes easier to just say..... Okay…. Here’s your sign…………… :U Rock:

Well agrees with Gino first off. Both posts !

Now as far as your layout is good and it flows well, but I would still allow more space around the edges and bring everything closer to the center, it does fall off to the right a bit, look at thumbnail picture play with it more.
On the back you might get away with the laundry list alot better but the sides keep it simple as possible.
7 items is a good measurement for stuff for the eye to look at be it words or pictures, your right there now.

don't write the whole web address in caps. it'll be easier to read and people might remember the initials if it written:.www.IHSonline.com

I'm sure it's miles ahead of what he had.
Reminds me of Friday, got an inquiry from a guy who sent me over a 4MB Word file saved as PDFs of his sh!tty sh!tty ideas.
I told him I could work with it to improve it, and he had the balls to ask if I could give him a free sample.
He likes Arial over Eras but I'm thinking your client's stuff probably looked better.
If he insists on a laundry list make him keep it to the back, so people bored in traffic can marvel at his skills.
Love.....Jill
