Take out the hard drive (if its not the harddrive that failed) and install in your new computer, or get whatever the problem is with your computer fixed. Every single component in your PC is replaceable. You'll only lose data if it is the hardrive that failed and you do not have a backup

What victor said. There are ways of recovering data from broken hard drives but I'd simply plug it into a new computer and see what happens first. Also, does Onyx have a way to transfer the license to new computer? Whenever I run into this issue with Rasterlink, we just deregister the license and reregister on the new computer. That is, if you still have your license code.

Thank you, I will try that. I believe the motherboard or cpu failed.

I have a keyed usb for the license, so I imagine it should work on a new system. Thanks for the help.

if you don't have installation media & product key for rasterlink, contact tech support.
they can certainly give you the product key

YOU COULD ALSO purchase a hard drive dock for about $40 but i am not sure how to read product key when the drive is installed as a slave (D: drive)

did you consider having someone look at the computer? there are very few things that are complicated to fix if you know your way around a pc
fire it up long enough to display the product key , copy the install file (if it was a download) and reinstall...

any half way competent tech can at least transfer hard drive to another computer in safe mode, long enough to retrieve product key, enabling a re-install
