Uneven banding vj1304

GAC05

Quit buggin' me
Anyone run into the problem of banding that is in the direction of the media movement but uneven, bad from the base on the right by the capping station and fading out to almost none at the top of the 54" material?
I'm thinking the heater or material with it not being even all the way through, but I don't know.
I've tried cleaning the outer face of the encoder strip - didn't see anything on it and no change in the banding issue.
I am running Oracal 3551GRA for the first time.
Using flexi 8.6 with the profile off their website.
It kind of looks like a mismatched profile except for the uneven part.
I tried sending the same file using the 3m180c profile with no change again.
It seems to be feeding ok and is pulling even onto the take up roll.
I ran a few head cleans thinking it would not help but couldn't hurt.

I have some 180c that I will try and see if it shows the same problem but I hate to use the expensive stuff for testing.

Any answers or things to try before I start burning up the 3M?

thanks

If you are describing "Vertical Banding" check your Heaters first but also look at everthing that has to do whith the Head Carriage Assy's movement from right to left and back again... IE, Encoder, Dirty Raceways, Belt, Motor, etc...
