I keep on getting a message that says Unhanded Exception error. I can't do anything with my invoicing program. I have done research and it says to install VISUAL STUDIO and from there should be able to enable and disable something called JUST-IN-TIME. I have followed the directions and I cant even find anything that says JIT. This is driving me crazy! Has anyone had this error and how can I fix it?? I called technical support and they dent me the link on how to fix it, and it didn't work. I have never heard of this. Please help if you could, thank you!!

Only software that seems to cause this issue?
Does this error happen when starting the program? creating an invoice? editing an invoice? or some other software function?

Yes, this is the only software that this happens to. As soon as I go into the accounts receivable part the error comes up. I am able to make an invoice, estimate...but as soon as I go to look at totals, the error pops up. I can't even get into looking at all unpaid invoices.

Have you tried the above? Had something similar happen to quickbooks a while back and it was nasty...
I haven't tried the above because I am confused on how to do that. Not very good with computer errors! Where do i get to that??

Where that file is buried is a bug unknown. The software manufacturer should help with this... you should be able to edit the file using NOTEPAD (text editor).

Sorry to revive this old thread but I just recently had this exact issue with Avanquest My Invoices & Estimates 10 and this Unhandled Exception JIT error and managed to resolve it.
Basically, the program can't read the "," or "#" or " ` " characters. Having any of those characters appear in your Company file (aka your database) will cause the program to crash once it reaches a line where that character is displayed.
The error message telling you to enable Just-In-Time debugging is a generic .NET error (the programming language used to write this program), and the error message specifically states that you can only do this if the software was compiled to allow you to debug it. In the case of Avanquest My Invoices & Estimates 10, it will not allow you to enable JIT, and if you try to, the program won't even start up.
Enough tech jargon, the fix is to open the database file if you can and get rid of any commas, hash tags (or pound signs if that's what you still call them), and backticks in the database. That means everywhere: from client names, addresses, products, etc.
Once you deleted all those characters, save the file then close and re-open Avanquest and the file should be able to be used without issue.
If your database is so corrupted that the program won't even open it, you have no choice other than to start a new database from scratch.
It's been 11 years since this issue has first been reported and it still happens and documentation for this software is borderline nonexistent. Searching online for this error, this forum is the first place that mentions it, and every other site, forum, blog, etc. that mentions this issue with My Invoices has offered no help.
I've also seen reports that calling Avanquest leads to no avail (ridiculous since they charge you to call them).
