Unidirectional print mode 1304

I have a 1304 and Flexi 8.6 rip to drive it.
Is there a way to get this printer to print unidirectional without setting it to the 1 or 2 quality setting to get the full 53.xx" print width?
I don't need the 8 or 16 passes or the 1440 by 1440/720 dpi options.
I need banner quality and speed with max print width on 54" material.
(I know it will slow down printing in only one direction)
In the production manager that option is there but it is ghosted out and I can't get to it without the setting the print mode to quality 1 or 2 even if the "Enable driver Options" is on or off.
If I set it so I can change the print direction then I can't change the passes or the dpi.
I went through the menu's on the printer to see if I could set it there under the media-type saved slots, but that option does not show up - unless I missed it.

The spec doesnt show any difference in print width for the 1304 in uni or bi modes.
It should be 53.25" for both.

The ValueJet operate by print "modes", so by spec you should not be able to change a bi-d mode to a uni

The fastest uni mode would be Graphics 1

Thats odd mine seems to follow this spec:

When I first got the printer I was loosing the top of some ganged graphics that added up to more than 52" total.

Edit,
when looking up the max print sizes I found the "mode" chart and I can get unidirectional with 4 pass using banner 3.
Looks like it will do Uni with 6 passes also if it ends up looking to rough.
Don't know how I missed that the first go round.

It's the 1304W with the aqueous head.
I found the same info after you said it should be the same in both modes.

im at 52.6 in bi mode on my 1304's.
