Union Logo On Signs

Today I came across a customer who is needing some campain signs. He says he need to have the Union Bug Printed on them. I am not a union shop so my question is how do I go about this?

Do you realize that almost ALL sign shops were union at one time ?? It was considered a trade and was going strong back in the 40's,50's, 60's and 70's.

Again, that was when you had to be qualified to be a sign painter. Nothing like the people that are in it today.

Gino, with the way technology is, can you imagine bargaining with a union over your guys who would work the vinyl cutter, but not the large format printing? That is such a friggin joke in this day and age!

Local Painters Union is where the Sign Painters reside. Considered seperate from each other, at least here, but the same Union.

It was the 'Joint Crafts Council' as I recall ...the last time I was a member. It somehow included painters, window glazers and sometimes carpenters and screen printers. Street sign installers for the county were Teamsters. Go figure.

Still that way. Yeah, how teamsters get install street signs is beyond me.

Nonetheless, I am a member of the Brotherhood of Independent Sign Writers, membership 1, me. I made up a bug for this organization and have used it where required.

A good friend is a member of the Association of Independent Sign Shops, membership 1, him. He also has created a bug and has used it to good effect.
