Used sp 540 value or headache?

Good day guys. Pleased advice. A new roland sp540 i sells for (converted from SA Rand ....7.36 to the dollar)

New Roland SP540 I in dollars $ 20380.00
Used Roland SP540 V IN DOLLARS $ 13586.95

The used Roland is about 4 years old.

Should I buy new or used...?

For 114 bucks a month more over a 5 year period you could have a new unit that is completely redesigned from the ground up with many improvements, I say go new & don't look back, 5 years from now he used unit will be 9.

Saw a used sp540 for sale on here the other day for under $10k with recent service by a Roland tech...

The guy posted the ad incorrectly so it was deleted, maybe he'll see this and post it in the proper place.

FYI, I just sold my 4-yr old SP-540V with a media basket, Triangle bulk ink system and a Dingtec laminator for $12,000. The printer was serviced last year with a new print head, encoder strip and some other basic parts. I think I got a fair price and consider it all to be in excellent condition. So, IMHO, they are asking too much for that machine.

Ive never found that to be the case with either the 540 or the 300

The new sp is in a redesigned chassis, looks a lot like the VP 540 to me which cuts dead on in my shop.
