Valuejet Ethernet Socket

I have an issue that the ethernet socket is failing on my Valuejet 1604 and needs to be held in a certain way for it to work.
Does anyone know where I can buy a new ethernet socket to solder onto the board.
As Mutoh are saying the only way is to replace the whole board, which is huge expense?

Also I have a chance to buy a second user valuejet 1614, the ethernet socket has completely failed on this one already.
The seller is saying he has it running of the USB port!
I was always told the USB port was for maintenance purposes only.
The question now is...... Can the valuejets be used using the USB port, and if so is their any downsides to using it this way?

Thanks

Technically they can print using the USB port. I have seen a couple of customers doing it with no problems. I have also seen units give random E016 error codes when it is done that way. If you try it I think you have to tell Windows to use a generic text only driver.

USB is not recommended or supported by Mutoh but it does work, although it is more glitchy.

Try out Digikey for electrical components. You can probably find the Ethernet port there. You can also probably take it to a computer shop and have them fix it. Usually the big box stores don't have the service but local independent guys do sometimes.

Thanks all

Seems very odd that Mutoh have fitted this port and then we are not use it.
Is their a driver so I can run it as such and can I still use it on my RIP?
