Vehicle lifts for wraps?

I've been considering getting a lift to make wraps easier on my guys. Have any of you tried one? Safety concerns? Stability?

Obviously saving time isn't going to pay for itself if cars fall off of it and smash people....

Check into a mid-rise lift. Would work a treat for wraps. Should be able to find them used. Buddy picked one up for a grand.

That's actually the exact unit I was looking at. It's more the stability/safety issue I'm concerned with. I've never used a lift, and don't really know what to expect. I mean, I see guys at the mechanic shop beating the hell out of cars on lifts, but.....

I wanted to know if anyone had experience with them.

Quit buggin' me
I have,
the bulk of our shop is automotive parts and accessories, in addition to the twin post lifts we also have 2 of the freestanding ones.
It is a little scary the first time you get two tons up about chest high - worry that if you lean too hard on one of the bumpers it's going to fall over.
The panic will fade after a while - If you are really worried just put some bubble wrap down around the lift so if it falls over you won't scratch the paint......
(we've never had one fall - since 1973)

Thanks for the reassurance! I'll be sure to lay out the bubble wrap too. :ROFLMAO:

got a single post air over water one in our shop thats pretty old. I would say it really depends on how many wraps you do. we only do 1-2 wraps a year and this thing is just in the way the rest of the time.

we happen to have a 2 post lift that helps with front and rear bumpers but is more in the way for sides and lower body kits. A simple floor jack and four jack stands gets the car up high enough to make wrapping the sides and lower skirts that much more ergonomically friendly.
