VG2-540 Print Head Cover

Does anyone run their printer without the thin plastic cover the sits over the print heads?
Mine came off today, broke around the screws, and I'm printing without it for right now.
Not sure if it serves a purpose or is just cosmetic. Thank you.

It does prevent dust build up and ink splatter from getting on things but that being said, I've seen more printers running without covers than I can count. It's very common. The cover itself is probably like $20 or $30 if you're worried. I've had customers get Roland parts like this from Ordway Sign Supply in southern California.

I was concerned about overspray, but the inside of the cover is clean. Just looks weird running without it. :D The noise is made is not what you want to hear when you're on the other side of the room.
