VJ1204 prints purple instead of black

Hey. I am really confused. All of a sudden, my blacks are coming out purple! What's strange is, the ink coming out of the tube at the cartridge is black,,,,I followed the tube,,,all black until it reaches the part where it's splits in 2 tubes,,then it's purple! I did change to a new black cartridge, did a few little charges, long cleaning, printed a big square trying to use black only and nothing works.
Any idea what might cause that?

So,,,after 3 more " little charges ", in the tubes after the split, it's black,,,then turns purple again and right before it reaches the print head, it's black again??????

You're getting cross-contamination. Check your maintenance station to see if it is clogged. If you put cleaning solution into the cap it should slowly empty completely. If it does not, the station is most likely clogged. In rare cases I have seen this issue happen when the head is damaged internally but I would start with the maintenance station first. The dampers could be suspect as well so I would change those before thinking it is the head.

You are correct. Magenta is sneaking in,,,the yellow just started getting some magenta in it. Could be that the seal is not sealing properly any more or pump not working???? Time to start cleaning.
