I have a 1614 that was recently serviced under maintenance. They replaced the capping station, print head and dampers. The printer is printing fantastic....however it seems to be very "messy" back by the capping station.
Overspraying ink heavily back in the area of the capping station. It gets lots of ink on everything back in that area...I am cleaning now every couple days....
Is there a fix to this or is this an indication of something wrong?...or should I just not worry about it?

I see this happen for two reasons:

1. Some after market wipers are too stiff and flick the ink everywhere rather than letting it flow down into the ink trough. You can find good wipers on our website if you think you may have after market ones.

2. There is a black piece of plastic that looks like a wedge on either side of your print head. This part allows the wiper to slide slowly to the upright position when the head moves across the wiper. If this part has fallen off or wasn't replaced when the head and maintenance station were replaced, the wiper will pop up rather than slide slowly which causes ink to flick around.

They had the wiper in backwards at first but I turned it around....and they re-used the old wiper.
I will order a new wiper...
