Need Help VP-540 and Monitor Color Calibration

HELP!

What I print on media does not always appear on my monitor. I've set Versaworks to Spot Color and Colormetric based on suggestions from previous posts.

What should I do first? Calibrate the monitor or load an ICC profile?

The next question is What ICC profile do I load for the monitor?
