What causes blade hop? or how to get rid of it..

I have a CX300 and have been getting some blade hop/skip in it.

So i replaced the cutting strip. Worked a bit better.
Then i replaced the blade still about the same
Then I replaced the blade holder.. got better but still getting it sometimes

Anything else I should try?

thanks

It might be your "force" setting in your driver program.

The other thing that comes to mind is the possibility of the servo motor that drives the cutter up & down could be going bad.
Before changing the servo motor try "LIGHTLY" applying a little WD-40 to the verticle guides on the servo motor that moves the cutter blade up & down.
Make sure you clean ALL the extra WD40 off any surfaces. It contains silicone, and will screw up you vinyl if you want to add anything to the vinyl after plotting.

Mess with your speed too. Mine would sometimes skip a bit on a diagonal cut, but after I slowed it down a bit, no problems.
