What material is this sign made from?

Hey guys, I have a customer of mine who needs a new logo put on their existing sign structure. This structure is a good 20-30ft in the air.

The sign seems to be made from some type of thick mesh banner for the yellow substrate and cut vinyl layed over top. The sign was made more than 10 years ago and is holding up pretty good i think.

You can see in the photos where the vinyl is lifting up which makes me think it's cut vinyl (originally i was told it was painted on though) and where the right side and bottom of the substrate kinda has slack where it's been clipped in all around. I can see small clips from the one side since it has fell previously and exposed a small gap on the one side.

There are from what i was told, lights behind the substrate illuminating the sign at night but since it has fell those are broken inside.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

If I were in your shoes I would refer them to a sign shop that does fabrication/repair of these boxes.

I definitely wouldn't want to touch it if it has previouly fallen and sustained damage.

The "Banner" Material used for light boxes like that is called panaflex

Probably contact someone that can make a retro-fit flex-face for you.

It's probably flex face, and it's not the type of job you want to get involved with if you haven't worked on one before.
If you have a good lock on the client get a quote from someone to subcontract the job to and make some money on the sales/design/markup.

WALK AWAY.........if its 10 years old and they want JUST TO REPAIR the vinyl...........is tellin you how cheap they want to get this fixed. ive put a few signs on some smaller strip malls, with this type of stretched banner material. it aint something you want to do, 20 ft off the ground.... and ill bet as soon as you try try to clean off the old vinyl, or remove the GLUE.... YOU WILL TEAR the substrate and then the cheapos will hold YOU RESPONSIBLE to give them a new sign!!!

Jobs being done as we speak, It's panaflex back lit material and is printing printed and installed where the old was.

The only face that could be gauranteed would be back sprayed Lexan which would be out of the client's budget because the industry has changed so much that all the client wants now is Cheap Cheap Cheap!! There would be very few people here who would be capable of knowing where to start at back spraying because all they know is cut vinyl or printing.
