As I like to say...

Have fun with that, you won't get me off the couch for a job like that with no margin...

Thanks,
Kurt

the question I would ask the customer is why are they bringing this to you? they got it done for $450 and seem happy so why are they at your shop?

Yea, I'm always suspicious of why they hadn't gone back to the place that did it before.

We're actually working on one that's a similiar situation... they went with a competitor because it was about $500 cheaper... then came to us... complaining of the quality of the other shop's print and the installation (it was not good)... but would we match that price? Kudos to my boss who said absolutely not. You got what you paid for at the other shop and we pay attention to the details, which is why we charge what we do.

So we got the job... at our price... but what a PITA to match to their crappy layout... really wish he would have come to us first... it kills me to see him spending a couple grand to wrap a car and the layout be so sucky.

Didn't you just charge $350 for a single application?

Printed and lamed on good film is why. The van I'd slap some 651 on the van. Most of these jokers are not in business 5 years anyway.

Tell him look, you got it done for $450. Now that guy is not around and a good guess would be the low pricing of this job. So you can either pay me what i need for the job or take a hike lol

$450 is kind of low but not ridiculously so, it's a crap layout and it looks like everything was set up to save vinyl and make application easy.

You got about 15 minutes in set up, two hours MAX to prep, cut, weed, and apply. $65 in materials (plus cost of digital print). Not every van lettering job is gonna make you $1000 profit and be a portfolio piece. Sometimes you've got to do those bread and butter jobs, too.
