Hey guys, I have a customer wanting a back lit sign panel done.

It's 2x8' and i was wondering if white acrylic would work fine. The customers on a tight budget so lexan is out of the question. I will be applying translucent digitally printed vinyl onto the white acrylic.

The old panel isn't there anything since the old owner took it earlier this week when the business moved out.

My supplier has optix acrylic in 3/16" which is:

"Optix® is the tradename for Plaskolite’s continuously processed, high quality acrylic sheet. Optix exceeds industry standards for quality and safety and its impact-resistance will prohibit the sheet from shattering into sharp edged pieces like glass. Special U.V. stabilization protects the sheet from yellowing and it’s backed by a ten year limited warranty. Optix acrylic sheet is ideal for almost any fabrication or glazing application including picture framing, skylights, displays, signage, lighting and point of purchase."

They also have regular acrylic too.

Thanks!

It's better to have two hands than one glove.

It's all pretty much the same. Translucent 3/16 acrylic is translucent 3/16 acrylic. Use whatever is the best deal.

When I want a chunk of 3/16 acrylic for a back lit panel, I call my supplier and order a chunk of 3/16 acrylic for a back lit panel. My lack of interest in what brand it might be approaches total. What possible difference if one brand will last until the next ice age and one only will last a decade or so?
