Wood/Grain identification

Anyone recognize this wood? I've searched without coming up with an exact match (curly/flame maple seems close), or even a laminate would be OK.

yeah... looks like quartersawn curly maple. sometimes called fiddleback.

If you want to try a cheap alternative, scan it a print it on a piece of clear maple or birch, varnish it and you will have a surprisingly good cheap alternative?
