Wrap for fun

I do not currently wrap vehicles, but I've got access to large format printers and I'm thinking of wrapping my personal truck. I can't really afford 3grand to have a pro do it, and I think it would be a fun project on my own.

I've seen a lot of detailed discussion on signs101, but I am still wondering if the professional wrap installers plot graphics to fit over things like a door, or do you guys apply 1 solid piece of vinyl over knife-less tape?

Thanks for any tips!

wrap for fun? as a first try?

It will only be fun for those who bring a lawn chair and a sixpack to watch this :D

Other than that, spending the $100 or so on Justin Pate's instructional dvds at least helps you with a minimum amount of basic knowledge to begin such a task. Or attend a training course.
