Wrap Vinyl Over Truck Welds... Pop Or Not?

Primer is not tacky. What happened is the adhesive separated from the vinyl and stayed stuck to the primer. Every time I do a removal I can see where primer was used because I have to clean all the adhesive off those areas. If you use primer use it sparingly. Check this video out.

Not sure this is exactly what happened. 94 does not feel sticky when it dries but it seems as soon as it interacts with the adhesive it becomes sticky. The IJ we used had the medium gray adhesive and what was left on the truck was the clear primer. I think the primer failed. The welds that we did not primer held fine on the same truck.
Maybe I laid it down too thick or it does not work that well on aluminum.
