Question Wrapping a channel letter raceway

Just curious if anyone has wrapped a channel letter raceway? If so, any tips or tricks, how was your experience with it and how has it held up? We just took delivery of two sets of letters with the raceway color wrong. I'm thinking using a 3M 2080 color change vinyl would be a fairly simple fix.

I'd be a bit afraid of birds and other things landing on it and damaging the vinyl. I've seen nests of birds and other flying insects like bees, wasps and things have nests on them and it can damage paint, especially if the birds crap on it.
