Sounds like a possible network or file processing issue. Are you setup to RIP and print at the same time or RIP then print? Try RIPing fully first and then send the job and see if the same thing happens.
We had similar issue with our Roland VS-540 at one time. A firmware upgrade fixed it. Hopefully you can find it on the Roland website. Your Roland distributor should also be able to provide the info you need for repair.
