Y Motor/servo motors and maintinance

I've noticed on my firends JV33 that his machine runs alot quiter than mine.
I've lubed the linear rail, done a bit of cleaning and what not but it still screams like a 5 yr old with a new bike on xmas.

Majority of the sound now comes from the Y Motor. Has anyone lubed up their motor here and can give an insight? Location of the grease/oil holes or any how-to advice?

I found on my JV33 that the belt going around the cogs was responsible for a lot of the whining noise.
I cleaned the belt - got a lot of surface gunk off. Then sprayed lithium grease on the cogs and belt teeth.
Much better

Warning if you try that - if you adjust it too low it will cause Y overcurrent error every time it tries to move. Then you can't restart the machine because it will error on startup every time.
Actually - that happened on my CJV30, so it may not error on startup on a JV33 as it doesn't need to scan across first thing like the CJV does.
Still, I had to reload backup parameters file to overwrite it and fix it.

Motors wear out. The noise from the motor is increasing very slowly, so that people who works on their machine every day mostly don´t notice it. It starts with noise, and ends with motor errors (seldom with a damaged servo board).

I´m a technician, If I do service on a customers printer or cutter and hear strange noises, I regularly suggest to replace the motor.

Man who touches printers inappropriately.
Brushes wear out, and carriage motors regularly encounter some crazy high forces. Sometimes just swapping the belt and doing a proper cleaning and retensioning of the system will also help. If you feel daring, servicing the motor and changing bearings also go a long way. If you can, spring for good bearings like SKF, NTN, FAG, etc.

Damn.
A little bit of cleaning the belt and some lithium grease makes a huge change.
