How can you print with 50% opacity in such a way that the media on which you are printing is also partially visible.

We need it for our own sampling by our designers, this is not meant for proofing. The purpose is just to design decals for phones and laptops and not actually bulk print them for production. We want to get the designs right as much as possible first on the in-house desktop printer. The designed...
We already have a cutting plotter. Our purpose is to design & sample decals and stickers for Electronic devices like laptops etc..And for that we will be using self-adhesive Vinyls from Oracal or LG, 3M etc. So all we need is a decent desktop sized printer which can print on any Self-Adhesive Vinyl.

My bad. :) I should have been more specific. The printer is not just for proofing. Its mainly for our designing and sampling flow. We outsource our printing and so sampling and production happen at different locations. So we cannot do without the desktop printer.
I know there will be a lot of...
We are looking to add a desktop printer for sampling and proofing our decals/stickers print designs on vinyl and presenting to customers.
What desktop printers can print even on Printable Vinyl media? Any models from Canon or Epson that can print good even on Vinyl?
We have a few designs with lot of pure white colors to make the graphics (vehicle wraps) standout. As white doesn't get printed and the base vinyl's white is what gets highlighted but the vinyl (IJ180 series) is not as white as we would like for these designs.
So how do we print white colors...
Looking to print lot of graphics containing lot of white colors for vehicle wraps. Vinyls with bluish white tones are not looking great.
What's the smoothest and whitest cast film out there from brands like 3M, Avery, Oracal and even LG?
