Further to my post. http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?123540-Well-well-what-s-going-on-here-then-pffft My CorelDRAW trial ran out and was just about to purchase the H & S version but found a solution. My cutter software has a limited amount of save file formats and plt is the best...
  2. Corel contact, why so hard????

The 'home & student' version is perfect for me (IF it saves as *PLT) as i don't "sell" my airbrush art work, it's a hobby and want the program to cut stencils & masks. That is all. That's my understanding as well. The product info says perfect for students and home hobbyists, and that's me.
  3. Draw X7 format save question..

Yep, either my cutter and Windows 7 don't wanna be friends of i'm a technology retard haha.
  4. Corel contact, why so hard????

I'm in New Zealand and there's no "local" number to ring so would be cost prohibitive to call. Yep, I just need to be sure the 'Home & student' version will. The 'Home & student' version is a "lite" version and some features are missing compared to the full version and i need to be sure that...
  5. Corel contact, why so hard????

In regards to my previous thread (CorelDRAW save format) I thought i'd contact them and ask BUT it seems you can't contact them UNLESS you already have purchased one of their products. Makes it kinda hard to ask a question to ensure the product you want is right for you. PFFFFT! Edit to say...
  6. Draw X7 format save question..

Just tried that and wasn't able to "make" my cutter a printer. I guess these are the trials and tribulations of buying "cheap"

Thanks for the replies people. (Would say guys but ya never know who ya talking to on the 'net LOL) Yep, that's what i was asking in a fuddled up way LOL. Re - reading my post i can see how "messy" it is. I'm using the latest version (.91 I think it is) Yes my 'save formats bring that up...
  8. Draw X7 format save question..

Hi all, wondering if anyone can help. Does 'CorelDRAW X7 Home and student version' save in *PLT format. I'm using Inkscape to design and have a Refine MH721 using (crappy supplied) Artcut to cut BUT Artcut only recognizes *PLT format. Now, I downloaded the CorelDRAW X7 trial and it is now...
  9. Well, well, what's going on here then, pffft.

Thanks for the replies guys. Have found a solution. It appears 'artcut' (cutting software) only likes to open things in *PLT or *AI. Inkscape won't let me save as *PLT SOOOOOOOOOOOOO...................I found a "Home & student" version of CorelDRAW X7 which will do everything i need ($149nzd...
  10. Well, well, what's going on here then, pffft.

HMMMMM........................Inkscape will save it as an *eps but won't open it as an *eps.
  11. Well, well, what's going on here then, pffft.

Was wondering if the 'problem' is Inkscape. May download the trial version of Corel draw X7 and see if that sorts it. Although it may take me 29 days to figure out how to use Corel then i'm left with one day of the trial left haha.
  12. Well, well, what's going on here then, pffft.

In Inkscape i "save as" then in artcut i "import". Can get from Inkscape to artcut as dxf but once there it's WAAAAY to big and is un-editable for some reason. Pic' in artcut as dxf.
