Epson 1400 printer

I want to setup to print photos and still have a Epson 1400 new never inked up.I brought it like 12 years ago and never started it up. Do they have any test ink in them from the factory? Since I just want to use it as a photo printer. I might be further a head just listing it for sale and buying a new wide format printer. Unless for some reasons I don't know of. Any suggestions?

I think the 1400 feeds its ink directly from the cartdridges which reside on top of the printhead itself. On first startup it will do its init procedure and do a cleaning to fill up the printhead with ink. you should be fine, even after so many years

Thanks but I'm buying a new photo printer and will sell the 1400. It's worth more to convert it
