fe8600 Scimming top of vinyl

I've been printing a lot of mx graphics with 6mil vinyl and 20mil laminate. I've been having a problem with the blade scoring the laminate when it crosses the material. Obviously the blade has to be exposed more then normal to cut through the material. Am I the only one with this issue and has anyone ever found a solution for this?

I have customers who use an in-feed and out-feed table when cutting thick graphics so that it doesn't have a curve in the media. This seems to work well for them and if you do this a lot, it should pay off. If you do it exclusively, you should consider getting a flat bed cutter.
