GERBER ODYSSEY Blade/pen holder carriage head P81869A solenoid lowering problems
We have the 48" GERBER ODYSSEY .
The carriage solenoid seems to be lowering the pen prematurely.
So it drags on the material.
We've shortened the spring to hold it back.
It works pretty well once we've adjusted it.
It's a pain in the neck and I'm the only guy that can get it to work.
Gerber will sell us a new carriage assembly.
I found an article on demagnetizing a solenoid with a bulk tape eraser.
(Which I have)
I will try that with the carriage removed and far away from any electronics.
Has anyone else had this problem or a fix ?
