Help understanding why our Gerber enVision is cutting poorly

I hope I am posting this into the correct place. If not, please excuse me.

Lately while cutting on our Gerber enVision 375, we have been running into an issue where the knife doesn't close the letter properly. So when we go to weed the job, we are left with little nooks.

Does anyone know why this might be happening and how to fix it?

It's almost certainly one of three things.

1. The plastic cutting strip is worn and needs to be replaced.

2. The blade is worn or chipped.

3. The blade holder is failing to allow free swiveling of the blade. When mine have gone bad in the past, it was indicated by an intermittent screeching sound when cutting.

At the moment, we are still working on the issue. Our fingers are crossed that it will be fixed with the help we have received.

We replaced the strip a month of so ago and haven't seen much of an improvement, but there was a little.

The blade is still in good condition. It is neither chipped nor worn out.

We are attempting to oil the metal guides for the head tomorrow.
