Jv33 not switching over to new cartridges.

This has been carrying on for the last few months. It started with cyan.

Print head is working fine, all nozzles there and straight. Suddenly halfway through print, cyan completely drops out. I called Tech support and they had me switching cartridges etc until it comes good again, hard to tell at the time what recovered the cyan channel. All is good for the next week or so till it happens again, cyan again. This time there is no recovering the cyan channel. Tech support come and replace head and try changing the board up near the cleaning cartridge. But he swaps the board back saying it made no difference. By now cyan is recovered on new head.

Anyway, fast forward a week and suddenly halfway through print magenta does the same thing. Notice on rip that the magenta has just switched cartridges and machine says it has switched cartridges but still no ink. Swap cartridges manually and magenta comes back after a hard clean or two .

I am beyond frustrated with this. Tech is arguing with me that the new problem is unrelated to the previous but I am in doubt with him.

What can I do? Also not sure if this is related (seems to be) every time I switch on the printer it says "perform test draw" I had never seen this prior to the first time the cyan dropped out.
