JV3S - need help with install

Brought home our brand new used JV3, now trying to install the Raster Link Pro on XP (don't have a firewire card or Onyx yet, gotta get it going in the meantime).
Question: do you put the dongle/plug in first or after installing the Raster Link Pro?

Should be after or during the install since Rasterlink will install the drivers for the dongle.
