LED Acrylic Letters

We've done plenty of larger illuminated channel letters but I haven't tried any of this style before. Now of course I need to quickly quote one before I've had time to do any experimenting.

What minimum acrylic thickness and routering depth is ideal to diffuse the light and prevent hotspots? My guess is 20mm (~3/4") thick opal acrylic, routered channel to half thickness out of the back, with enough width to house LEDs and bending radius of the strip?

Can anyone provide some tips?

WE have done letters like this with Foam, PVC, and Acrylic.. We always use 1" and leave a 3/16" minimum face depth ..

That is just what we have done successfully .

I know our distributor just came through recently with a product that is being mass produced that is this exact thing.. I can not think of the name though..

I did not remember it simply because we can make them in house as needed..

Good Luck!
