Rockhopper black print

I have a 38" Rockhopper. Bought it new in 2005.
I recently changed the printheads, color damper and maintenance station.
Whenever I print black it comes out gray.
Any suggestions?

Is your output set to CYM or CYMK?

Ink limits, both for individual channels during linearization, and total ink limits play a big part in black. So does using a four color process black rather than a 0, 0, 0, 100.
