SP300 out of Cyan and wont go into setup

I just ran out of Cyan ink in my SP300, usually keep a spare cart but changing over to Bordeaux inks soon so haven't a spare.
No shops open here til 7th of Jan. Aaaargh, I just need to do some cutting but it seems since I set ink control to "cont" the machine refuses to start up and just sits there beeping at me.
Any ideas, ..... Can I stick a spare cart of yellow into it just to fool it into starting up, or maybe a flushing cart ?????

You might try to tape down the TAB that sticks out of the cartridge and flags it as empty.
