Weathered look in Photoshop?

I'd like to find a simple, easy to understand tutorial to produce a weathered look to a sign. I have CS5. Any ideas?

Thanks D, I did go to those YouTube videos but I'm trying to accomplish something a bit different.

I'm not sure how it's done, but I'm told you can apply a filter or whatever over the entire sign and it will create a sort of weathered look, using a blending mode.

I'm sure someone on this forum knows what I'm talking about. Maybe it's not a filter as much as it's an overlay pattern.
