We've had good luck with our Epson printers, there was a tech less than 2 hours away who would get to really quickly. Epson also would overnight three boxes the size of a small microwave, so if the tech needed more parts he had them.
Now our tech is 6 hours away but still gets to us pretty...
Can you make a jig that you can reload on the back of the printer? That way your only transporting the foam to the back and then putting the panels on there?
Have you thought about using the pink foam insulation sheets for your jig?
*I would've be doing something similar when we had our EFI...
Unfortunately I don't do enough of the printing to tell you how. It's either over print or under print... It may be a profile thing. I'm sure someone on here would know for sure.
I would just try printing black on the gold. IF the black isn't opaque enough which it should be I'd print white behind the black. I saw you had an Epson 80600, so I assumed you had white available.

There were too many hoops to jump through here to get an actual booth... we would've had to spend almost three times...
We had two Epson 60600s, great workhorses with minimal issues. After 5-6 years we had the same thing go out on both... some $2k sensor.
We replaced those with the bulk 80600, we haven't had any other issues to speak of. The color gamut on the 80600 is phenomenal.
Mr.Fixit, we have had our Vanguard VK300D for almost three years now. I don't have many complaints or issues with the machine, it just hums along. I like the ability to add up to 10 total print heads so the machine can grow with your workflow. They also now offer and print/conveyor/cut option...
In our city, if you make the sign and the customer installs it they can come back on you and fine or take your sign license.
The thought is only to have professional sign installers installing signs. That way they aren't falling off the building killing people.
It's a pain, but ever since we...
