  1. Suggestions Trying to Find Out What My Old Mutoh 1204GA Printer is worth?

Yes it does. That is how I am able to print directly onto 20 and 30 Mil magnetic media, the print head has two height settings and the higher clearance for the pre-grommeted banner media is perfect for the magnetic signs.
  2. Suggestions Trying to Find Out What My Old Mutoh 1204GA Printer is worth?

My printing days are over and I have a 48" Mutoh 1204GA Eco-solvent printer I need to get out of here. It needs about 2,500 dollars worth of repairs to refurbish it back to working order. It has the motorized take-up reel, and I modified the feed path with a removable aluminum plate so I could...
  3. Question Who Makes Adhesive Vinyl With the Longest Shelf Life?

I'd have to say over 10 years, so I'm not surprised.
  4. Question Who Makes Adhesive Vinyl With the Longest Shelf Life?

I've mainly used my printer for just about everything, but I needed to make some vinyl lettering for a project, so I grabbed a roll of Oracal 651 and discovered that the backing was basically welded to the vinyl. I tested a couple of other rolls and the same thing with those. I hated to trash...
  5. Question Anyone Figured Out How to Wet Cap an EcoSolvent Print head?

True, but that can get to be an expensive loss if you don't happen to have any paying customers on a regular basis.
  6. Question Anyone Figured Out How to Wet Cap an EcoSolvent Print head?

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of, this danged machine is like a ball and chain. It's sad that with all the technology nobody has been able to figure out a simple way to keep these heads from drying out without wasting a ton of supplies and time.
  7. Question Anyone Figured Out How to Wet Cap an EcoSolvent Print head?

I would appreciate hearing from anyone that has come across or invented a way to wet cap an ecosolvent print head to keep the nozzles from drying out during extended idle periods? Seems to me like there must be something that can be applied to the head surface that would seal out air and...
  8. Mutoh 1204GA Color Help - Lost my Reds.

I need to put this thread on hold. I was missing a few nozzles but all of a sudden I am missing a bunch of nozzles. I tried several Strong Cleanings and that seems to make it worse. I can see the wiper after each cleaning and there is hardly anything on it as though ink is not being drawn out of...
  9. Mutoh 1204GA Color Help - Lost my Reds.

I use CMYK and my brightest red is using M=100 and Y=80, then I add K from 5 to 15 if I want darker reds, K=15 gives me a blood red. I attached pictures but I don't know if they show the difference very well. In person it's obvious. I'll follow up with screen shots of the settings first chance...
  10. Mutoh 1204GA Color Help - Lost my Reds.

That's sad considering how expensive Flexi is. What are you using now? What really makes me mad is how everything could be working real fine for years and then all of a sudden not. I found a media and color profile combination that produced excellent reds on all the vinyls I normally use, then...
  11. Mutoh 1204GA Color Help - Lost my Reds.

I wish I could do that, but I never purchased Spectrophotometer, I am regretting that now.
  12. Mutoh 1204GA Color Help - Lost my Reds.

Unfortunately I have never used Fellers, but thanks for the suggestion.
  13. Mutoh 1204GA Color Help - Lost my Reds.

Version 12. Also I performed the test suggested by ColorCrest. Turning off all Color Management did nothing, Reds are still orange or brown. In retrospect i probably should have posted this issue in the Flexi section.
  14. Mutoh 1204GA Color Help - Lost my Reds.

I will try that experiment tomorrow.
  15. Mutoh 1204GA Color Help - Lost my Reds.

Missing a few but at 1440 res you can't really tell. Also, I should mention I can print out individual solid color bars of the 4 printer inks, and they look just fine. I believe the problem is with the software not the printer.
