  1. bidirectional detail calibration setup overlapping lines are not within -20 +20 more like they could be +30

So I've re-run the service mode bi-directional alignment but in user mode the overlapping lines are not available, way off beyond +20 Is there a setting to reset this so overlapping is nearer 0 so I have the ability to adjust?
  2. bidirectional detail calibration setup overlapping lines are not within -20 +20 more like they could be +30

I've done that, but user mode doesn't give overlapping lines near 0, they all appear to be over to the right +20
  3. bidirectional detail calibration setup overlapping lines are not within -20 +20 more like they could be +30

Here you go, printer is half open in mid clean/diagnostic A couple of nozzles are missing but in mid clean
  4. bidirectional detail calibration setup overlapping lines are not within -20 +20 more like they could be +30

Hi Mike, Yeah I've done that, this photo is after I changed the encoder strip and before re-calibration. The scan left/right overlapping lines should be nearer the 0 to allow for adjustment either way, theres no clear adjustment when it's already over at +20
  5. bidirectional detail calibration setup overlapping lines are not within -20 +20 more like they could be +30

Hi Mike, H1,2,3 &4 the test print give the bi-dir setting, you then go into setting and change it to the setting that has the overlapping line, as you can see from the photo, the overlapping lines are off the chart at possibly +25-+30

Hi All, Not posted for a while. My VS540I having weird issues. This morning all prints have an apparent overspray. Several medium cleans, still the same. So I fit a new OEM cap top, wiper, felt, then doing a full service clean. When I go into user mode, adjust bi-dir, detail settings and print...
  7. VS540i blobby issue with nozzle check

That's sad news, it runs almost perfect after the cleans until the following morning, I will have to live with this a little longer doing the head cleans in a morning, £1k - £2k for the head is a big up front hit for the sake of a couple of cleans. Thanks Damon and the other guys for all your...
  8. VS540i blobby issue with nozzle check

UPDATE.... Having replaced all the dampers there is a slight improvement but I still have the bobbly effect on the nozzle test print. If I do my rainbow test pattern the nozzle check is much better but not perfect . pictures attached, Is there anything else I could try before I bite...
  9. VS540i blobby issue with nozzle check

yeah it's next job on my list, not a clean job though how I see it, think I need to clamp all ink lines unless there's an easier way without ink spill
  10. VS540i blobby issue with nozzle check

It had crossed my mind that it may be that, but after doing my rainbow test print, it performs perfectly all day, then it sits all night and the next morning has blobby issue, makes me think its an ink flow to the head or possibly a damper issue.
  11. VS540i blobby issue with nozzle check

I use third party "easy inks" manufactured in Germany, all my inks are used within 3 months, so no inks on the shelf are older than 3 months
  12. VS540i blobby issue with nozzle check

The cap top, felt and wiper changed about 3 weeks ago Print head face is nice, clean and dry. I replaced the pump at the same time as the scan motor
  13. VS540i blobby issue with nozzle check

This happens on any media, photo, banner, vinyl, pop-up its only better once I do a decent size with my test print. I was beginning to think possibly the dampers but not 100% sure as its all nozzles
  14. VS540i blobby issue with nozzle check

Hi, I've done the zoom-in check for hairs/fibers and all is clean. Had the cap top, felt and wiper changed about 3 weeks ago with oem genuine parts. The strange thing is after a good test print the nozzle test print is fine then the next morning its back to been blobby
  15. VS540i blobby issue with nozzle check

Hi all, Thank you for accepting me in. I'm new to this forum. I have a VS540i for the last 3 years, was working perfectly until last weekend got a scan motor error 44 I think. This happened some point Saturday after closing 12:30, came in to work Monday and error showing. Cap top, wiper, felt...
